This is another way of working with WHOLE NUMBERS and PARTS. Long ago, when calculating with percentages was invented, it was agreed that the WHOLE = 100 PARTS = 100%

Let's assume that you need to share one pizza between 100 people. Would that get rid of your hunger?

You could probably use that piece of pizza to fill a hole in your tooth, but we still say: 1 pizza = 100 parts = 100% We refer to everything that is whole by saying: it is 100%

	This means that asking for 50% of a pizza is the same as asking for half a pizza. Don´t go asking for 50% of a pizza in a pizzeria: You´ll¨probably get some funny looks!
